[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Shinhan Financial Group announced on the morning of the 9th that it held 'Shinhan Digital Day' under the theme of Digital to Value at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, attended by Chairman Cho Yong-byeong, group executives, customers, and investors.
At the event, Shinhan Financial introduced the achievements of its digital transformation efforts and the group's core digital capabilities to realize its vision of 'Easier, More Comfortable, and Newer Finance.' The first session revealed ▲ Shinhan's digital financial platform used by 21 million people ▲ MyData chosen by 6 million people ▲ Prevention of voice phishing and fraudulent payments using AI ▲ Stories of new digital business challenges in delivery and healthcare ▲ Expansion of a digital ecosystem based on empathy and coexistence.
In the following second session, Shinhan Financial introduced its core digital capabilities, including ▲ Leading business by combining financial data and examples of trend prediction using big data ▲ Enhancing customer value through data utilization ▲ A two-track talent development strategy to secure external digital experts and improve employees' digital literacy.
At the event, Chairman Cho Yong-byeong personally presented Shinhan Financial's future digital strategy, including the Shinhan Universal Simple App. Chairman Cho stated that in the big blur era, where industry boundaries are lowered and the distinction between online and offline disappears, the group’s digital capabilities will be embedded in the Shinhan Universal Simple App, scheduled for release next summer, to provide various financial services from the customer's perspective.
Chairman Cho emphasized that the Shinhan Universal Simple App will enable customers to use desired services 'seamlessly' beyond the boundaries of banking, card, securities, insurance, and other sectors from a One-Shinhan perspective. He also announced the creation of the 'Shinhan Digital Universe' through a Two-Position strategy, where core daily financial needs are met via the Shinhan Universal Simple App while continuously improving and connecting existing group company apps for joint use.
Chairman Cho said, "Preparation for Shinhan Financial's future starts from the customer's perspective," and added, "We will continue the journey for customer value more humbly, more fiercely, and more boldly."
