Events Including Excellence Awards and Forum Held Over Three Days from the 9th to 11th

Opening Ceremony of 'Women Venture Week' Held... Awarding Proud Women Venture Commendations

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Women Venture Association held the opening ceremony of the '2022 Women Venture Week' on the 9th at the KBIZ Hall of the Korea Federation of SMEs.


Now in its third year, the Women Venture Week is a platform to discover and award outstanding women-led venture companies and to provide a space for exchanging diverse knowledge and information within the venture industry.


This year’s event, under the slogan "Women Ventures Growing Together through Challenge and Innovation," will run for three days until the 11th. On the first day, following the opening ceremony, outstanding women venture companies will be commended. The second day features the Women Venture Innovation Growth Forum, and the event concludes with Startup Day on the final day.


The opening ceremony was attended by Lee Young, Minister of SMEs and Startups; Han Mu-kyung, Jo Myung-hee, and Kim Young-sik from the People Power Party; Kim Kyung-man and Jeong Tae-ho from the Democratic Party; as well as related officials including Park Joo-bong, Ombudsman for SMEs; Kim Yong-moon, President of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development; Kang Sam-kwon, Chairman of the Korea Venture Business Association; Lee Jeong-han, President of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association; and Yoo Woong-hwan, CEO of Korea Venture Investment Corporation, along with women venture entrepreneurs.


In his congratulatory remarks, Minister Lee stated, "To enable women talents to play a greater role in future industries, we will actively support by expanding next year’s Mother Fund investment in women enterprises to 13 billion KRW and by revitalizing the dedicated special guarantee system of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation."


Kim Boon-hee, President of the Women Venture Association, said, "It is necessary to shift the paradigm of existing universal women enterprise development policies and prepare strategic and systematic policies focused on innovative women venture companies."


At the Proud Women Venture Entrepreneurs Award Ceremony held that day, 27 outstanding entrepreneurs who have set exemplary standards in founding and growing women venture companies were selected and awarded certificates of commendation.


The Minister of SMEs and Startups Commendation was awarded to 15 recipients including: Kim Da-hye, CEO of Olive Stone; Kim Mi-sun, CEO of Araum; Kim Min-a, CEO of Gonggam IT; Kim In-hee, CEO of Osong; Kim Hyun-jung, CEO of Ann&K Global; Park Sun-young, CEO of Songwon ENG; Seo Jung-won, CEO of TR Technology; Song Min-a, CEO of Design Pax; Lee Dan-bi, CEO of Miping Planning; Jang Se-young, CEO of Novas IoT; Jo Eun-bi, CEO of Roadmap; Ji Eun-hee, CEO of Vision Lab; Chae Hee-sook, CEO of ATX; Hwang Seung-joo, CEO of Miju; and Hwang Joo-won, CEO of Uvis.


The Minister of Gender Equality and Family Commendation went to Lee Chan-hee, CEO of Energy Partners; the Commissioner of the National Tax Service Commendation was awarded to Kim Jeong-hee, CEO of Uwell Deco, and Park Young-hee, CEO of Da-il Special Steel; the Public Procurement Service Commissioner Commendation was given to Park Ok-hee, CEO of Jooyoung Tech, and Hwang Soon-hwa, CEO of Redix; and the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Commendation was awarded to Kim Hee-jin, CEO of Ulike Korea.


The Korea Women Venture Association President’s Commendation was awarded to six recipients: Na Min-young, CEO of Songwon ENG; Park Ga-ram, CEO of All One Care; Park Hee-yeon, CEO of Yeju Foods; Jeong Ji-ye, CEO of Mampyeonhan Sesang; Jo Yen, CEO of Origin; and Choi Ji-hyun, CEO of Great.
