[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] As the prosecution began a search and seizure of the residence of Jeong Jin-sang, the chief aide to Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, as well as the party leader's secretariat within the National Assembly and the party leader's secretariat at the Democratic Party headquarters, Park Soo-young, a member of the People Power Party, expressed support by saying, "Our prosecution is doing well."
On the morning of the 9th, Park said through social networking service (SNS), "Only by wielding the sword like a lightning strike can we punish the unprecedented criminals."
Earlier, he shared an article on SNS about the indictment of Kim Yong, deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute, saying, "The prosecution has identified the real owners of about 42.8 billion won, roughly half of the Cheonhwa Dongin No. 1 fund, as the 'Lee Jae-myung trio,'" adding, "Now, the sword's tip is aimed right at the doorstep of Representative Lee Jae-myung."
Meanwhile, on the same day, the prosecution announced that it would proceed with search and seizure procedures at Chief Jeong's residence, the Yeouido Democratic Party headquarters where his office is located, and the party leader's secretariat within the main building of the National Assembly.
