"Thank You for Contributing to the Development of Social Welfare" ... Namhae-gun Holds Awards Ceremony Commemorating Social Welfare Day

Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, awarded commendations to nine individuals who contributed to the development of social welfare in celebration of the 23rd Social Welfare Day.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, awarded commendations to nine individuals who contributed to the development of social welfare in the field to commemorate the ‘23rd Social Welfare Day.’

Namhae-gun had originally planned to hold the ‘13th Treasure Island Namhae Social Welfare Festival’ in a grand manner, but to mourn the Itaewon accident, on the 8th, only the commendation recipients were invited to the county governor’s office to receive plaques of commendation and hold a meeting for the development of social welfare.

At the awards ceremony, Hong Eun-hye of Namhae Home Care Senior Welfare Center, Go Hyun-ok of Hwabang Namhae Senior Integrated Support Center, and Jeong Hee-yeon of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Namhae Branch received commendations for their contributions to the promotion of elderly welfare.

Additionally, Park Seon-a of Namhae Sign Language Interpretation Center, Kwon Geum-ja of Treasure Island Family Happiness Counseling Center in the women and infant field, and Lee Jeong-sook, a case manager at Namhae County Office in the integrated service field, received commendations for contributions to welfare for the disabled. Kim Hwang-ja, chairperson of Sangju-myeon Community Security Council, and Kwak Gil-sim, chairperson of Seomyeon Community Security Council, received commendations in the eup/myeon council field.

In the public official category, the honor went to Kim Su-jeong, administrative officer at Seolcheon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center.

County Governor Jang Chung-nam said, “I express my respect and gratitude to the awardees who carefully check whether there are any shadowed or neglected areas in the region and welfare sites in need of help,” adding, “We will work together with social welfare officials to create a warm Namhae full of affection through customized welfare services in daily life for each and every citizen.”

Shin Cha-cheol, private chairman of the Namhae County Community Security Council, said, “Thank you for volunteering on the front lines, and I ask you to continue your efforts for the happiness of Treasure Island Namhae.”
