[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CU announced on the 9th that it has surpassed 2 million cumulative views about one year after starting live broadcasts.
Since the end of last year, CU has partnered with various home shopping and live commerce platforms to introduce differentiated products and promotions tailored to seasonal and event-based occasions. The Naver Shopping Live broadcasts, which began in August this year, recorded a peak viewership of 430,000 and an average of 250,000 views per session. More than 40% of all ordering customers are repeat buyers, demonstrating high loyalty, and the main viewers are in their 30s and 40s, accounting for over 70% of total purchasers.
CU will hold a live broadcast on Naver Shopping Live’s ‘Rico’s Cheating Day’ at 11 a.m. today. In this broadcast, CU mobile gift certificates (20,000 KRW) and GET coffee will be sold at discounted prices of 10% and 30%, respectively.
CU plans to gradually increase the number of Pocket CU live broadcasts and schedule regular broadcasts to expand communication with customers. Additionally, it will plan live broadcasts linked to promotions conducted at offline stores so that customers can enjoy benefits both online and offline simultaneously.
A BGF Retail official said, “Through live broadcasts, CU is expanding customer touchpoints and building a solid brand fan base while striving to ensure that products sold during broadcasts lead to increased sales at franchise stores. Going forward, we will analyze customer responses and product sales effects from broadcasts in various ways to introduce differentiated products in an engaging manner and maximize customer benefits.”
