‘Traders Club’ Paid Membership Succeeds... Surpasses 300,000 Members in One Month

Membership-Only Discount Products as Core Competitiveness

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Warehouse discount store Traders announced on the 9th that its paid membership ‘Traders Club’ surpassed 300,000 subscribers within one month of pre-registration.

Traders rebranded from Emart Traders to Traders Wholesale Club and launched a membership program. The benefits of Traders Club include membership-exclusive discounted products and TR Cash accumulation, which can be used like cash. Traders regularly selects and sells membership-exclusive discounted products. Among these, the products with large discounts can save customers over 150,000 KRW by purchasing just 10 items. This far exceeds the annual membership fee of 30,000 KRW for the basic Standard tier.

Cost-effective flagship products are a core competitive advantage for Traders’ growth. In particular, they have secured large quantities of popular whiskeys such as Balvenie, Macallan, and Evan Williams, supplying them at low prices. Traders’ whiskey sales increased by 140% compared to the previous year, and this year, sales grew by 68% year-on-year through October.

The increase in membership subscriptions was also helped by early sign-up benefits offered to customers who applied by this year. Traders is providing a welcome voucher (discount coupon) worth 24,500 KRW to customers who applied during the early registration period.
