Sinan-gun, HanSuwon, Hyundai Glovis, LS Electric, NH International, and Mokpo MBC Collaboration
[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Sinan-gun, the center of renewable energy in South Korea, signed a business agreement on November 4th at the Lotte Signiel Hotel in Seoul with Hyundai Glovis, LS Electric, NH International, and Mokpo MBC to develop next-generation complex renewable energy models and complexes.
About 70 people attended the business agreement ceremony, including Park Woo-ryang, Governor of Sinan-gun, Hwang Ju-ho, President of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Kim Jung-hoon, President of Hyundai Glovis, Kim Jong-woo, President of LS Electric, Kim Ho-seok, CEO of NH International, and Lee Soon-yong, President of Mokpo MBC.
Through this business agreement, the participating organizations will promote projects to convert internal combustion engines to complex renewable energy combining solar power, wind power, used batteries, and green hydrogen to achieve carbon neutrality in island regions. They also plan to review the feasibility of seawater desalination projects using salinity gradient power generation, a future new technology, to solve water shortage problems in island areas.
Additionally, to improve efficiency due to low utilization of renewable energy grid-connected transmission networks, they agreed to cooperate in developing a large-scale 100MW-class complex renewable energy complex.
Park Woo-ryang, Governor of Sinan-gun, stated, “Through this business agreement, we will participate in the government’s Net Zero 2050 policy and support the construction of Sinan-gun, a place where everyone wants to live, by implementing carbon neutrality through complex renewable energy generation using Sinan’s infinite resources of wind and sunlight.”
