Listening to the Difficulties of Environmental Sanitation Workers

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Lee Seung-hwa, the governor of Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, carried out environmental cleanup activities such as collecting household waste and conducted an on-site inspection of household waste collection and transportation.
Sancheong-gun announced on the 8th that Governor Lee Seung-hwa checked the actual status of household waste discharge and listened to the difficulties faced by sanitation workers working on site.
On that day, Governor Lee inspected the waste discharge status by visiting areas vulnerable to waste separation and discharge from early morning.
In particular, he worked up a sweat by directly collecting and transporting household waste together with the sanitation workers.
Afterwards, he took time to listen to the difficulties of the sanitation workers and encouraged their efforts to keep Sancheong-gun clean.
This on-site inspection was conducted as part of a communication administration to better understand the difficulties of sanitation workers and to listen more to the voices of the residents.
It is known that Governor Lee personally requested this to increase understanding of the site and to create opportunities for communication with the sanitation workers.
Governor Lee said, “By collecting the waste myself, I had another opportunity to realize the value of the sanitation workers who work hard from early dawn every day,” and added, “Based on this experience, I will do my best to improve the actual conditions and problems on site so that Sancheong-gun can become better.”
Sancheong-gun is making efforts to create a clean and pleasant residential environment by promoting the proper methods of household waste discharge, installing CCTV to prevent illegal dumping, and setting up recycling neighborhood yards.
