Top 5 Seoul Cafe Streets Most Visited This Fall

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Junran] The number of vehicle arrivals at Seoul's cafe streets in October increased by up to 34% compared to the previous month. This is analyzed to be due to the increase in outdoor activities with the arrival of autumn. Along with this, the most visited cafe street in Seoul last month was found to be the Insadong Cafe Alley.


According to the analysis by DataDragon, the analysis platform of big data specialist company TDI, the cafe streets most visited by users of the car navigation app Tmap in October were Insadong Cafe Alley, Sangsu-dong Cafe Street, Seorae Village Cafe Street, Samcheong-dong Cafe Street, and Bangbae-dong Cafe Alley, in that order.


The number of vehicle arrivals at Seoul cafe streets in October was 66,600 at Insadong Cafe Alley, 44,500 at Sangsu-dong Cafe Street, 42,200 at Seorae Village Cafe Street, 40,800 at Samcheong-dong Cafe Street, and 33,200 at Bangbae-dong Cafe Alley. In September, the number of vehicle arrivals was 49,800 at Insadong Cafe Alley, 38,100 at Seorae Village Cafe Street, 35,800 at Sangsu-dong Cafe Street, 32,100 at Samcheong-dong Cafe Street, and 27,900 at Bangbae-dong Cafe Alley.


Insadong Cafe Alley showed the largest change with a 34% increase in vehicle arrivals compared to the previous month. This was followed by Samcheong-dong Cafe Street with 27%, Sangsu-dong Cafe Street with 24%, Bangbae-dong Cafe Alley with 19%, and Seorae Village Cafe Street with 11% increases.


Insadong is analyzed to greatly benefit from the lifting of COVID-19 social distancing measures and the easing of entry restrictions. It is also known as an essential course for Seoul travel, and the many unique cafes there are a reason why people continue to visit.


Along with Insadong, Sangsu-dong Cafe Street was notable in October. The number of vehicle arrivals at Sangsu-dong Cafe Street also increased significantly compared to the previous month, moving its rank from 3rd to 2nd. Since Sangsu-dong is near Hongdae, it is a place with many sights and entertainment options. Seorae Village Cafe Street, which was ranked 2nd in vehicle arrivals in September, dropped to 3rd place in October.
