Police "Reviewing Legal Grounds for Specific Charges"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Jungkook, a member of the group BTS, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was confirmed to have lost his hat. It was indeed the hat that Jungkook had worn.
On the 7th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that earlier this month, they received a response from BTS's side confirming that Jungkook lost the hat at the location, and they are continuing the investigation into former Ministry of Foreign Affairs employee Mr. A.
According to the police, Mr. A is reported to have admitted all charges. The police are currently conducting final legal reviews to determine the specific charges.
Previously, Mr. A caused controversy by posting on a secondhand trading site, claiming to be a Ministry of Foreign Affairs employee and selling Jungkook's hat for 10 million won.
At the time, Mr. A stated, "When BTS made a secret visit to get passports, the hat was left in the waiting area," and "After reporting the lost item, no calls or visits were made for six months, so the finder acquired ownership." However, it was confirmed that no lost item report had been filed for the hat.
After the controversy grew, Mr. A reportedly went to a police substation in Gyeonggi Province on the 18th of last month, surrendered the hat in person, and turned himself in.
