Hapcheon-gun Cracks Down on Fraudulent Distribution of Hapcheon Sarang Gift Certificates 'No More Cheating'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, will launch a comprehensive crackdown from the 7th to the 25th, a period of 19 days, amid concerns over the occurrence of fraudulent circulation due to increased demand and expanded issuance of Hapcheon Sarang Gift Certificates.

The targets of this comprehensive crackdown include ▲ franchise stores operating in restricted business sectors ▲ receiving gift certificates without selling goods or providing services ▲ receiving gift certificates through transactions exceeding actual sales amounts ▲ acting as an agent for exchanging fraudulently received gift certificates by individual franchise stores ▲ refusing gift certificate payments or treating gift certificate holders unfairly ▲ franchise owners continuously purchasing and exchanging gift certificates under another person's name.

The county will secure payment information through the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation’s management system and use the suspicious transaction extraction program provided by the Korea Simple Payment Promotion Agency (Zero Pay) to identify target franchise stores. Then, based on the suspicious amounts and frequency, they will conduct telephone verifications and on-site inspections.

Franchise stores caught in the crackdown will face measures such as on-site guidance, cancellation of franchise registration, recovery of unfair profits, and imposition of fines in accordance with the “Act on the Promotion of Local Love Gift Certificates.”

The Hapcheon Sarang Gift Certificate can only be used at franchise stores within our county, and the paper type can be purchased at a 5% discount, while the card and mobile types can be purchased at a 10% discount.
