[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] KMI Korea Medical Institute announced on the 4th that it will carry out a social contribution project to support food for vulnerable groups in Seogwipo City, Jeju Island.

This social contribution project consists of the 'Hope Lunch Project' to support children at risk of food insecurity and the 'Happy Sharing Food Market Delivery Service' for elderly people with mobility difficulties among food market users. KMI is sponsoring a total of 30 million KRW.

The KMI Social Contribution Committee joined this project as part of efforts to coexist with the Jeju local community ahead of the opening of the KMI Jeju Health Screening Center. KMI will open a health screening center early next year at the Jeju Healthcare Town Medical Service Center to improve medical accessibility and reduce medical disparities in the Jeju area.

Kim Soon-yi, Honorary Director of KMI Korea Medical Institute, said, "We hope KMI's sharing will be of some help to those in welfare blind spots," and added, "We will continue to carry out social contribution projects for coexistence with the local community and for marginalized neighbors."

KMI Korea Medical Institute, established in 1985 as a health screening institution, currently operates health screening centers in seven locations nationwide: three in Seoul (Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, Gangnam) and four regional centers (Suwon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju). In addition to early detection and prevention of diseases and promoting public health, it carries out various social contribution activities.
