Comprehensive Crackdown on Uiryeong Sarang Gift Certificates from the 7th to the 25th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is launching a large-scale crackdown on fraudulent distribution of local love gift certificates that defraud taxpayers.
Uiryeong-gun will conduct a comprehensive crackdown on fraudulent distribution of Uiryeong Love Gift Certificates from the 7th to November 25th to prevent fraudulent distribution in line with the expansion of the issuance scale of the Uiryeong Love Gift Certificates.
The comprehensive crackdown on fraudulent distribution of Uiryeong Love Gift Certificates will target fraudulent activities based on resident reports to the Fraudulent Distribution Reporting Center and monitoring data from the gift certificate integrated management system's payment merchants.
The main types of targets for the crackdown include ▲ receiving gift certificates without providing goods or services (so-called 'Kkang') ▲ operating businesses restricted from registering gift certificates ▲ refusal to accept gift certificate payments ▲ refusal to issue cash receipts, and discriminatory treatment against gift certificate holders.
Merchants caught in the crackdown will face administrative and financial penalties according to relevant laws, such as on-site guidance, cancellation of merchant registration, and fines, depending on the severity of the fraudulent distribution.
A county official stated, “As the issuance scale of Uiryeong Love Gift Certificates expands and greatly contributes to revitalizing the local economy, we will do our best to establish a sound distribution order through the crackdown on fraudulent distribution of gift certificates.”
