Eunpyeong District Recruiting Youth for ‘Cheongnyeon Sikdang’ Tenant
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) has officially launched the construction of the 'Songpa Family Center and Daycare Complex Facility,' which will serve as a family welfare platform and a space for service support and information exchange.
The design competition was completed last August, and basic and detailed design services have been underway since October.
The district explained that to proactively respond to the increasing demand for family welfare and to establish a universal family welfare foundation, it plans to build a complex facility combining ▲ a ‘Family Center’ that supports care, counseling, and communication services for diverse families including single-person households, and ▲ a ‘Public Daycare Center’ to meet the growing childcare demand due to redevelopment in the Geoye and Macheon areas.
The Songpa Family Center and Daycare will be constructed on the public office site in Geoye-dong (around Geoye-dong 194-3), which is scheduled to be donated by the Geoye 2-1 Redevelopment Association, with a total floor area of 1,786㎡ and a scale of one basement floor to four above-ground floors.
Specifically, the first floor will house the ▲ public daycare center, and from the second floor upwards, the facility will be developed as a family center consisting of ▲ a shared childcare space, ▲ counseling rooms, ▲ education rooms, and ▲ family exchange and communication spaces.
After completing the basic design, construction is scheduled to begin in June next year, aiming for an opening in May 2025.
In this regard, the district was finally selected last year in the Living SOC Complex Project competition hosted by the Office for Government Policy Coordination, securing national and city funding. It has been thoroughly preparing administrative procedures such as reflecting the project in the mid-term local finance plan, reviewing shared property, city investment review, architectural planning, public architecture review, and design competition.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “We will do our best to ensure that the construction project of the family center and daycare complex facility, which aims to provide high-quality childcare services to residents and respond to the increasing and diverse family welfare needs, proceeds without any setbacks.”
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it is recruiting young entrepreneurs to join the ‘Youth Restaurant’ by the 11th of this month.
The ‘Youth Restaurant’ is a collective dining facility established by Eunpyeong-gu to support young people aspiring to start a food service business, consisting of a total of four shops. One shop has become vacant, prompting this recruitment.
There is no deposit required upon entry, and benefits include 70% support for rent over 10 months, partial support for interior construction costs, and provision of startup education and consulting. Each shop has an individual kitchen with an exclusive area of about 11㎡ and a shared dining space (hall) for customers.
Applicants must be Eunpyeong-gu youth aged 19 to 39 as of November 1, with no disqualifications for new business registration. Any young person with passion and unique startup ideas is eligible to apply.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the 11th via email to the person in charge, following the application form posted on the district’s website. Afterward, applicants must complete startup education and mentoring, including business plan writing, at the Seoul Startup Cafe Eunpyeong Bulgwang branch, and submit the final business plan by 6 p.m. on the 23rd.
For other details such as startup education and evaluation schedules, please refer to the announcement posted on the district office website.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “We hope this will be an opportunity for young people struggling with startups to freely challenge themselves and realize their dreams,” adding, “We will continue to take the lead in creating youth jobs and revitalizing the local economy.”
