Webtoon and web novel production company ‘Contents Lab Blue’ (CEO Go Young-to) announced on the 3rd that the mystery detective webtoon ‘Blackout’ will begin serialization on November 7 through KakaoPage.
‘Blackout’ is a work that won the Gold Prize at the 4th Mystery Novel Contest hosted by KakaoPage and CJ ENM. The original novel gained high popularity, reaching 100,000 views within two months of its release on KakaoPage.
The so-called ‘Future Photo’ is a photo that, when printed, shows the subject’s appearance 10 years later. While the Future Photo can reveal a happy future, it also predicts death through a phenomenon called ‘Blackout,’ where only black appears when printed.
Yoon Si-woo, an employee of the Future Development Corporation in charge of printing Future Photos, prints his girlfriend’s Blackout photo and accepts a suspicious dispatch job offer to prevent her death. He then faces the huge conspiracy and reality behind the Future Photos that have been concealed until now and gradually uncovers the secrets one by one.
The webtoon ‘Blackout’ unfolds with a fast-paced storyline intertwined with a desperate struggle of a man trying to prevent death, conflicts between society and individuals, and the absurdities of money and power.
