[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Genesis BBQ Group announced on the 2nd that it visited Baekbong Elementary School in Goesan-gun, Chungbuk on the 28th of last month to carry out a chicken sharing activity.
The Chicken Relay on the Go is a social contribution activity by BBQ that delivers chicken to neighbors in need of attention and love by receiving stories from applicants, and this delivery ceremony marked the 4th time. BBQ headquarters officials and the Cheongju Bokdae Branch family (franchise owners) attended the event to share volunteer work.
BBQ visited Baekbong Elementary School located in Cheongan-myeon, Goesan-gun, Chungbuk, delivering 50 servings of chicken along with side menus for the children to enjoy. The applicants, teachers at Baekbong Elementary School, sent their stories to gift chicken, which children love, to create joyful memories at the publication celebration commemorating the release of a poetry collection compiled from students' poems over the past two years.
A BBQ official who participated in the event said, "We are happy to be able to gift the children their favorite chicken at their publication celebration," adding, "We hope today's memories will become cherished moments that allow them to feel the beauty of their childhood in the future."
Meanwhile, BBQ planned to expand the beneficiaries of the Chicken Relay, which was previously conducted only near Chicken University, nationwide by utilizing the food truck ‘BB-Car’. Starting in July this year with Hanseo Elementary School in a mountainous village in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, BBQ also delivered chicken to Hye-neung Orphanage, a child welfare facility in Cheongju, and ‘Namsarang House’, a welfare facility for the disabled in Pocheon. Going forward, BBQ plans to continue its sharing activities by accepting applicants' stories and expanding its warm-hearted outreach to remote areas, mountainous regions, and islands nationwide.
