[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The National Museum of Korea operates "Conversations with Curators" every Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM, where visitors can listen to curators' explanations of artworks.
The main exhibitions available for the November Conversations with Curators are "The Uigwe of Oegyujanggak, The Meaning of Its Nobility" in the Special Exhibition Hall and "600 Years of the Habsburgs, Masterpieces of Fascination" in the Planning Exhibition Hall. The responsible curators introduce interesting stories related to the exhibitions.
In the Special Exhibition Hall's "The Uigwe of Oegyujanggak, The Meaning of Its Nobility," various stories discovered within the Uigwe are gathered and introduced, marking 10 years since the return of the Oegyujanggak Uigwe from France. Visitors can revisit the noble significance of the Uigwe, which meticulously records important state events of the Joseon Dynasty.
In the Planning Exhibition Hall's "600 Years of the Habsburgs, Masterpieces of Fascination," held to commemorate the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Austria, masterpieces by Western art masters such as Pieter Paul Rubens, Diego Vel?zquez, Tintoretto, Veronese, Anthony van Dyck, and Jan Steen are introduced.
Additionally, exhibitions such as "The Story of Goryeo Celadon," "Appreciating Hieroglyphic Celadon," "Life on the Border: Turpan," "The World of Japanese Buddhist Sculpture," "How Did Paleolithic People Hunt?," "Goguryeo Mural Tombs," and "Silla's Crown Ornaments" are also introduced.
