"Mourning the Victims of the Itaewon Accident" ... Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon, Announces at Regular Assembly Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, is holding a regular assembly at the City Hall Citizen Hall.

Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, stated this on the 1st during the November regular assembly held at the City Hall Citizen Hall.


Mayor Hong held a moment of silence for the victims who lost their lives in the Itaewon accident, ordered the cancellation or postponement of all festivals and events scheduled during the mourning period, and instructed thorough safety management for all future events.


He also urged public officials to refrain from unnecessary gatherings and to join citizens in sharing the grief of the bereaved families, emphasizing special attention to the management of public officials’ duties.


Regarding key tasks, Mayor Hong said, “November is an important period to plan and reflect next year’s budget and tasks. It is necessary to draw a big picture from the perspective of citizens, the demanders of administration,” adding, “We will secure fiscal soundness through next year’s budget restructuring and focus the budget on projects needed by citizens.”


After the regular assembly, a sexual harassment prevention training session at the workplace was held for senior public officials, featuring Seung Haekyung, a specialist lecturer from the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education, who gave a lecture under the theme “Gender Sensitivity UP! Happy Companionship.”
