According to the county on the 31st, due to the declaration of the national mourning period related to the Itaewon tragedy, some events of the Chrysanthemum Festival have been canceled and will be held in a subdued atmosphere.
Stage events scheduled for this week, such as the Youth Fringe Festival, Nostalgic DJ Music Box, and Singing Along to Honam Songs, have been canceled. However, the agricultural and specialty products sales area and chrysanthemum artwork exhibitions will operate normally.
County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, "We express our deep condolences to the victims and bereaved families of the Itaewon tragedy," and added, "We also ask for the understanding of visitors who came to the Chrysanthemum Festival."
Meanwhile, the '2022 Korea Chrysanthemum Festival' will be held at Hampyeong Expo Park until November 6.
