[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Yeongyang County, Gyeongbuk, will intensively crack down on the fraudulent distribution of gift certificates targeting affiliated stores from November 7 to 25 to establish a sound order of gift certificate distribution.
This crackdown is part of a nationwide regular simultaneous inspection, which will be promoted after analyzing suspicious affiliated stores involved in fraudulent distribution based on monitoring data from the integrated gift certificate management system and resident reports received at the Fraudulent Distribution Reporting Center.
The main targets of the crackdown include ▲affiliated stores operating in restricted business sectors for registration ▲receiving gift certificates without selling goods or providing services ▲acting as an agent for exchanging gift certificates fraudulently received by individual affiliated stores ▲refusing gift certificate payments or treating gift certificate holders unfairly.
For affiliated stores caught in fraudulent distribution, administrative and financial measures such as cancellation of store registration, recovery of fraudulently obtained amounts, and imposition of fines will be taken according to relevant laws.
County Governor O Do-chang said, “We ask for the active cooperation of small business owners and residents so that the gift certificate project, which greatly helps to promote local consumption and revitalize the local economy, can be carried out as intended.”
