[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed condolences regarding the disaster that occurred in Itaewon.
In a statement released through the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 30th, he said, "I am deeply shocked and very saddened by the tragic accident in Itaewon, Seoul, where many people, including young individuals, lost their precious lives."
He continued, "On behalf of the Japanese government and people, I sincerely offer my condolences to the victims and their families," adding, "I pray for the speedy recovery of those who were injured."
He also stated, "In such difficult times, I express solidarity with the government and people of Korea."
Prime Minister Kishida also posted his message of condolence regarding the Itaewon disaster on his Twitter account.
