"Formulating a National Tourism Attraction Strategy"… Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hosts Forum for Revitalizing Inbound Tourism

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 27th that it will hold a forum titled "Post-COVID-19 Revival of Inbound Tourism" at the conference room of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

The Ministry plans to compile the opinions of tourism industry professionals and experts gathered at this forum and reflect them in the currently being established "6th Basic Plan for Tourism Promotion (2023?2027)." The forum will be held a total of four times consecutively, including this event.

At the first forum held on this day, discussions will focus on ways to quickly capture demand amid the normalization of international tourism conditions and achieve an early recovery of the inbound tourism market.

The discussion topics include ▲ Trends and prospects of the international tourism market recovery (Korea Culture and Tourism Institute) ▲ Enhancing the attractiveness of inbound tourism linked to Korean culture (K-Culture) (Hana Tour ITC) ▲ Collecting opinions from inbound travel agencies specializing in major regions, as well as stakeholders from the airline, accommodation, and cultural festival sectors. In particular, the forum will share the trends of the inbound tourism market as experienced by the industry in a rapidly changing environment and global travel flows, and exchange views on strategies and recommendations to advance as an attractive tourism country through the convergence of Korean culture (K-Culture) and tourism.

Subsequently, the second forum on November 2 will focus on changes in tourism flows and response directions to revitalize regional tourism. The third forum on November 8 will discuss measures and policy tasks to overcome the difficulties in manpower supply and demand in the tourism industry after COVID-19. The fourth forum on November 16 will examine ways to improve the tourism industry system.
