[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Dragonfly is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the development of new game titles and the realization of the digital therapeutics business.
As of 10:21 AM on the 27th, Dragonfly is trading at 1,185 KRW, up 29.65% (271 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.
Dragonfly's paid-in capital increase will be conducted through a rights offering to existing shareholders, aiming to raise a total of 22.185 billion KRW. The raised funds will be used for the development costs of new game titles, including the console game 'Token Fighter.'
Additionally, to secure future growth businesses, the company plans to invest in the 'game-based digital therapeutics (DTx)' business. Dragonfly has already started developing digital therapeutics for treating pediatric ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
The U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has officially approved 'game-based digital therapeutics' as a legitimate treatment method and is in the commercialization stage. The market has rapidly grown due to non-face-to-face treatment methods following the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the National Biotechnology Policy Research Center's 'Digital Therapeutics Industry Trends and Outlook,' the global digital therapeutics market size is estimated to be about 5 trillion KRW this year. It is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 20.5%, reaching 24 trillion KRW by 2030.
