Eco-friendly 'Pepe Bottle Recycle Campaign' Also Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Taekwang Group announced on the 26th that employees from its major affiliates cheered together to support the players at the home opener of the Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders women's professional volleyball team, celebrating the group's 72nd anniversary the day before.
On the 25th, the home opener between the Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders volleyball team (hereafter referred to as the volleyball team) and the Pepper Savings Bank AI Peppers volleyball team was held at the Incheon Samsan World Gymnasium in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon. To commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the group's founding, Taekwang Group planned a group viewing event to wish for the volleyball team's success in the 2022-2023 season as well.
Employees from major affiliates including Taekwang Industrial, Heungkuk Life Insurance, Heungkuk Fire & Marine Insurance, Heungkuk Securities, Yegaram Savings Bank, TRN, Korea Cable Telecom (KCT), TCIS, and Sehwa Ilju Academy participated in the event.
Textile and petrochemical affiliates Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Chemical Fiber conducted a group cheering event along with an eco-friendly campaign called the ‘Waste PET Bottle Recycling Campaign.’ This campaign was designed to raise awareness about the proper disposal methods of transparent PET bottles and the importance of the domestic resource circulation system in the era of mandatory environmental responsibility by separating plastic labels from PET bottles generated at the volleyball stadium.
Dedicated collection bins for waste PET bottles will be operated at the volleyball stadium's recycling stations until the end of this season. Through Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Chemical Fiber, which possess technology to transform PET bottles into high value-added fibers, the bottles will be recycled into the eco-friendly fiber ‘ACEPORA_ERO.’
The yarn produced in this way will be released as sustainable eco-friendly uniforms that save carbon dioxide and energy. The Pink Spiders women's volleyball team has been using ACEPORA_ERO uniforms since the 2020-2021 season.
Additionally, Taekwang Industrial planned a four-line acrostic poem event for employees to celebrate the 72nd anniversary with the theme phrase ‘Taekwang Birthday,’ and group affiliates prepared various programs in line with the anniversary.
Meanwhile, Heungkuk Life achieved a complete victory with a 3-0 win in the game that day.
