[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun announced on the 26th that it will hold the 34th Jeollanam-do Sports for All Festival from the 28th to the 30th at various venues including Haenam Useul Stadium.

This year in Haenam, the Senior Sports for All Festival started in June, followed by the Senior and Children’s Sports for All Festivals in August and September. With this Jeollanam-do Sports for All Festival being the last event, it is expected to mark the grand finale of the year’s sports for all festivals, which have fully resumed after COVID-19.

Under the slogan “Thriving Haenam, United and Inspiring Sports Festival,” the event will feature 23 sports disciplines and about 6,000 athletes, creating a vibrant sports festival at Useul Field.

The opening ceremony will be held at Useul Stadium starting at 4 p.m. on the 28th with the entrance parade of city and county teams. Following the ceremony, popular singers such as Jang Yoon-jeong, Jung Dong-won, and the idol group Brave Girls will perform celebratory shows.

During the event, local specialty product promotion booths and food trucks will operate, and about 350 volunteers and event support staff will participate to ensure a safe and smooth tournament.

Additionally, portable toilets and other convenience facilities have been installed at the opening ceremony venue and competition sites to ensure no inconvenience for spectators and participants.

Furthermore, the towns, related organizations, and institutions have established an organic cooperation system, including maintenance of stadium facilities and traffic control support, dedicating full efforts to prepare for the event.

Myung Hyun-gwan, the mayor of Haenam, stated, “By hosting all four major Sports for All Festivals, the largest sports festivals for amateur athletes in Jeonnam, in Haenam this year, we are setting a precedent for overcoming COVID-19 through sports. We will do our best to create a sports environment where all residents can enjoy healthy activities through the successful hosting of the Sports for All Festival.”
