[2022 National Audit] Choi Tae-won, Lee Hae-jin, Kim Beom-su Gather to Address Fire Accident

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, Lee Hae-jin, Global Investment Officer (GIO) of Naver, and Kim Beom-su, Head of Kakao Future Initiative Center, announced that they will meet to discuss the SK C&C Pangyo Data Center fire incident.

The CEOs of the three companies responded this way on the 24th during the National Assembly Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Committee’s audit when Rep. Heo Eun-ah of the People Power Party asked if the three CEOs were willing to come together to resolve the issue.

Rep. Heo said, "The heads of the companies related to the Kakao outage are all gathered," and asked, "Do the three of you have the intention to meet and solve the problem?" In response, GIO Lee said, "I will consider what would be most helpful."

When Rep. Heo asked again, "Are you saying you do not agree to meet?" GIO Lee replied, "I will not exclude it and will think about it." Center Head Kim said, "It is one of the possible ways." Chairman Chey said, "I will try to push for it."

Additionally, Rep. Heo asked Chairman Chey whether there is a plan to proactively compensate service consumers and small business owners who suffered damages from this fire incident if data is secured. Chairman Chey replied, "I will try to do so if possible."
