Damyang-gun to Host Beer Festival 'Enjoy and Worry Less (Go, Beer)'

From 6 PM to 10 PM on the 28th and 29th, in the Damju Damidam Art District area

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam announced on the 24th that it will hold the beer festival ‘Joyful (Go), Worry-free (Beer)’ from 6 PM to 10 PM on the 28th and 29th at Damju Damidam Art District (the plaza in front of Dambitdamru).

This event is jointly hosted and organized by the Jeonnam Cultural Foundation, Damyang-gun Cultural Foundation, and Damyang-gun, and is promoted in connection with the Art Week ‘Damyang’ event. It was planned to revitalize the local commercial district, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, by increasing visitors to the old downtown area.

Along with busking performances and a snack corner, attendees can experience bamboo beer and Damyang Makgeolli, and enjoy beer and side dishes at tables set up in the plaza in front of Dambitdamru.

An exhibition of Damyang specialty products will also be held as a side event.

During the day, the art market ‘Yuyujajeok’ program will feature side events such as painting exhibitions, sales, and experiences, and at the fountain plaza in front of Juknokwon, the Damyang Craftsmen Association will host an excellent crafts product sales support project, along with a sales and promotion exhibition of Damyang agricultural specialty products.

County Governor Lee Byeongno said, “I hope this event will greatly contribute to revitalizing the stagnant old downtown commercial district and bring happiness to the residents,” adding, “We will continue to make great efforts to create a happy, self-reliant economic city for all.”
