This support covers the purchase costs of assistive devices such as hearing aids, electric wheelchairs, electric scooters, and arm and leg prosthetics, aiming to alleviate daily inconveniences and reduce the economic burden for disabled medical aid beneficiaries.
The support targets registered disabled individuals among medical aid beneficiaries, with plans to provide assistive devices like hearing aids and wheelchairs throughout the year.
Support is recognized only once per person within the durable period for each type of assistive device. The amount supported corresponds to the lowest amount among the standard amount, the announced price, and the actual purchase price for each device type (standard amounts: electric wheelchair 2,090,000 KRW, electric scooter 1,670,000 KRW, manual wheelchair (standard type) 480,000 KRW, hearing aid 1,310,000 KRW).
Any amount exceeding the support limit must be fully borne by the beneficiary.
Applications can be submitted to the resident's eup/myeon office with a prescription issued by a specialist according to the applicant's disability type (including test results) and an application form.
Eligible applicants who receive notification of approval should visit a registered disabled assistive device store listed by the National Health Insurance Service to purchase the device and submit the assistive device benefit claim form (including inspection confirmation, etc.).
A county official stated, “Through continuous promotion of assistive device support for the disabled, we aim to reduce their economic burden and provide opportunities to participate in social activities.”
