[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Outdoor brand Black Yak announced on the 24th that it will release a limited edition in collaboration with casual fashion brand Covernat.
This collaboration was carried out under the theme of "Two Face," meaning two sides of a face. It aims to reinterpret Black Yak's rational and progressive mountain climbing image with Covernat's casual sensibility to present a new look.
The limited edition includes a variety of core items necessary for hiking such as down jackets, quilted padding and pants, fleece, and hiking boots, as well as accessory sub-items like ponchos, hats, balaclavas, and sacoche bags. In particular, it features the active use of high-performance materials such as Gore-Tex and Pertex, highlights like outer pockets and wave-pattern quilting stitches, and trendy oversized silhouettes. Neutral colors in comfortable yet warm tones such as navy, ecru, and olive khaki were applied to leverage the strengths of both brands. Black Yak's eco-friendly material "PLUSTIC," made by recycling domestic PET bottles, was also used to reflect the value of sustainability.
The Black Yak X Covernat limited edition can be found at Black Yak and Covernat flagship stores in Yangjae and Hongdae, as well as 20 key stores and official online mall channels. Pop-up stores will also be set up at Shinsegae Starfield Hanam and Shinsegae Daegu.
A Black Yak representative said, "This collaboration product focused not only on shifting the usage space from mountains to everyday life but also on creating all-around items through the crossover of Black Yak's functionality and Covernat's design," adding, "We expect to show a new side of Black Yak in the emotional outdoor area where the boundaries between outdoor and casual wear are breaking down."
