[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Traders announced on the 23rd that they will hold a large-scale event starting from the 24th to celebrate their 12th anniversary. Reflecting the increased demand for whiskey this year, they have exclusively planned and introduced a premium bourbon whiskey in collaboration with a famous American bourbon whiskey brand for the anniversary.

From the 24th until the 3rd of next month, Traders will sell a limited quantity of 30,000 bottles of the 12th anniversary whiskey, "Evan Williams Bottled in Bond (BIB) 12th Anniversary Edition 50 degrees 1ℓ." Traders Club customers can purchase it at a discounted price in the mid-30,000 KRW range, 4,000 KRW off the regular price. This whiskey is characterized by a harmonious blend of vanilla, oak, caramel aromas, and flavors of pepper, vanilla, and citrus, with a warm and long-lasting initial taste even after drinking.

As a high-quality "Bottled in Bond" product among bourbon whiskeys, Traders expects it to receive great response in the maturing domestic whiskey market.

Traders' liquor buyer visited the local manufacturer Heaven Hill Distillery in the U.S. this summer to present whiskey with high quality but reasonable price, discussing in advance the selection of whiskey base, label design, and securing volume. Through prior planning with the manufacturer and importer and bulk ordering, Traders explained that they were able to offer 1ℓ large-capacity whiskey at an affordable price.

Traders said that the "Evan Williams Black 1ℓ," launched last October, gained popularity with its large capacity yet price in the 30,000 KRW range, selling over 90,000 bottles in one year and becoming the top-selling whiskey at Traders. They also secured stock of popular products like 'Balvenie' and 'Macallan', which often sell out quickly, causing "open runs."

Traders' whiskey sales have also increased significantly every year, with whiskey taking the top spot in liquor sales for the first time this year. According to Traders, whiskey ranked 5th in liquor sales in 2020, but sales increased by 140% in 2021 compared to the previous year, and as of the 16th this year, sales grew by 67% year-on-year, reaching first place.

Meanwhile, to commemorate its 12th anniversary, Traders will offer discounts on representative products by category for one week from the 24th to the 30th. When paying with the Traders-affiliated Samsung Card, customers can get a 10,000 KRW discount per pack on "Australian grain refrigerated sirloin retail pack" and a 30,000 KRW discount on "Shinil microfiber electric blanket (2-pack, single + double)." Events for Traders Club members will also be held simultaneously. A 55-inch smart TV (hand carry) will be sold at a discounted price of 560,000 KRW, 70,000 KRW off.
