Brainstorming Measures to Revitalize Local Product Purchases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 19th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 20th that it held an open communication meeting with local design and manufacturing companies at the Damyang-gun Office large conference room to promote the purchase of locally produced goods.
This meeting was attended by 32 people, including County Governor Lee Byeongno, design company officials, and the chairman of the Agricultural and Industrial Complex Council, to share the difficulties faced by local companies navigating the turbulent waves of high inflation, high interest rates, and high exchange rates, and to create a forum for communication and cooperation between local design and manufacturing companies.
At the meeting, issues and measures such as prioritizing the incorporation of locally produced products in designs, support for industrial complexes, and environmental improvement plans were discussed frankly.
The county pledged to build a database of local companies and utilize it when signing contracts to promote county-level activities prioritizing the purchase of locally produced products.
It also announced plans to carry out various activities, including the integrated establishment of a job support center, to alleviate the manpower shortage of local companies.
Damyang-gun is continuously strengthening its communication efforts based on the principles of listening and serving during the 8th elected term, by hearing voices from the field, identifying problems from the field’s perspective, and deriving improvement plans.
On the 15th, the county visited the Eco Agricultural and Industrial Complex Managers Association, identifying and reviewing economic regulations that hinder business operations from executives and company representatives, and in September, shared opinions on felt regulations in the field through a meeting with local and external architects.
Governor Lee Byeongno said, “We will actively reflect the valuable opinions presented at this meeting in county administration,” and added, “We will continue to listen carefully to even the small voices of companies and incorporate them into policies to make Damyang a self-reliant economic city that is good for business.”
