[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Samsung C&T Fashion Division announced on the 19th that it will open a multi-brand shop called ‘ZIP739’ on the 20th of this month in Hannam, known as a center of art and culture, with the concept of ‘Young & Rich’ that combines fashion, art, and lifestyle.
ZIP739 is a multi-brand shop where customers can simultaneously experience feminine-sensibility fashion, art, and lifestyle. ‘ZIP’ means compression and also sounds like the Korean word for house (ZIP). ‘739’ is the lot number of the area called Komde-gil between Itaewon Station and Hangangjin Station, where fashion stores such as Comme des Gar?ons, Lanvin, Theory, Beaker, and COS are lined up.
In particular, ZIP739 is designed as a space where visitors can fully experience fashion, art, and various lifestyles based on the local characteristics of Hannam, including art, music, and galleries. The fashion brands of Samsung C&T Fashion Division’s representative womenswear lines such as Kooho, Le Beige, Kooho Plus, and Cotelo, as well as global fashion and lifestyle brands pursuing young styles, will be featured. The venue will also operate the Gana Art Center lounge to expand art content.
ZIP739 was renovated under the leadership of Seunggeun Park, Creative Director (CD) of the Visual Team at Samsung C&T Fashion Division, renewing the Kooho Hannam flagship store into a total of three floors from basement level 1 to the 2nd floor, covering 628㎡ (190 pyeong).
The basement level 1 is composed of seasonal collections of Kooho and Le Beige, accessories, lifestyle items, and art pieces, enhancing a luxury sensibility. The 1st floor above ground expands the range of choices for customers by strengthening young-sensibility content based on various domestic brands such as Kooho Plus and Cotelo, as well as overseas brands including Alex Mill, Simon Miller, and John Elliott.
The 2nd floor above ground is designed as a differentiated art content space that can only be experienced at ZIP739. The Gana Art Center lounge operates continuously, and works by emerging designers are introduced in diverse exhibitions lasting 2 to 3 months. Starting this month, a solo exhibition of new works by Ethan Cook will be held.
Youngmi Park, Head of Womenswear Business Division, said, “ZIP739 will play a role as a fashion hub leading K-fashion as well as culture and lifestyle,” adding, “The combination of Hannam’s locality and ZIP739’s differentiated space will establish itself as a new place for young customers seeking novelty.”
