[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Xiaomi announced on the 18th that it will officially launch the upgraded ‘Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro’ and the first tablet in the Redmi series, the ‘Redmi Pad,’ in South Korea.

Xiaomi explained that the Electric Scooter 4 Pro is equipped with six safety systems. First, the Battery Management System (BMS) prevents the temperature from rising too high or the charging from exceeding a certain range. The front and rear wheels each feature an e-ABS and disc brake system. The front wheel’s e-ABS braking system cuts off power to the motor when the handlebar brake is pressed, stopping the scooter, while the rear wheel’s disc brake system is designed to stop the scooter within 1 to 2 seconds after the brake is applied. The 10-inch tubeless self-sealing tires prevent punctures.

Xiaomi also added an adjustable handlebar according to the user’s height and a wider footboard. It is equipped with a 700W motor capable of a maximum speed of 25 km/h, a maximum driving distance of 55 km, and can handle inclines up to 11 degrees. With a capacity of 12,400mAh, it can travel up to 45 km on a single charge. The scooter body is made of aerospace-grade aluminum alloy.

The price of the Electric Scooter 4 Pro is 948,000 KRW, and from the 18th to the 24th, it can be purchased at an early bird discount price of 888,000 KRW. It is available at Xiaomi Light Store, Xiaomi Naver Brand Store, Coupang, 11st, eBay, Homeplus Gangseo Branch Xiaomi Brand Shop, and Seongsu Velo. The official release date is midnight on the 18th.

Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Pad, the first tablet product in the Redmi series. It is the first affordable pad product to adopt a lightweight and durable unibody enclosure design. The 10.61-inch display has received low brightness certification and SGS low visual fatigue certification. Blue light reduction software and a built-in LCD that reduces blue light help provide a more comfortable audiovisual experience.

The 90Hz refresh rate offers a smooth viewing environment, and Xiaomi explained that the visual low latency allows users to feel faster speeds when browsing, scrolling, and gaming. The Redmi Pad is also equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 and an advanced chipset built on a 6nm process. It features a large 8,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.

On the front audio side, the Redmi Pad is equipped with quad speakers supporting Dolby Atmos to ensure immersive sound. The horizontally arranged 8MP 105-degree ultra-wide front camera is designed for group video calls. The focus frame technology automatically switches to a wider screen when multiple people appear during meetings or video calls, keeping people centered in the video frame.

The colors are available in Graphite Gray, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green, and two RAM and storage models, 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB, are priced at 388,000 KRW and 438,000 KRW respectively. From the 20th to the 26th, early bird discount prices of 338,000 KRW and 380,000 KRW are available at Xiaomi Light Store and online stores including Xiaomi Naver Brand Store, Coupang, 11st, eBay, and Homeplus Gangseo Branch Xiaomi Brand Shop. The Redmi Pad will be officially released at midnight on the 20th. Additionally, customers who purchase the product will receive a 2-month free trial for new YouTube Premium subscribers.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi will also officially introduce the ‘Xiaomi Smart Humidifier 2,’ ‘Xiaomi Smart Tower Heater Light,’ and ‘Mi Smart Radiator’ for the winter season. The Smart Humidifier 2 is priced at 69,800 KRW with an early bird price of 59,800 KRW. The Xiaomi Smart Tower Heater Light is priced at 108,800 KRW, and the Mi Smart Radiator at 118,800 KRW, with early bird prices set at 94,800 KRW and 98,800 KRW respectively.
