Over 1,200 Gather to Pledge Community Development and Member Unity
The Barugesalgi Movement Changwon City Council successfully held a Unity Pledge Rally at Bukmyeon Public Stadium with over 1,200 attendees.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] The Barugesalgi Movement Changwon City Council held the ‘2022 Barugesalgi Movement Changwon City Council One Mind Resolution Rally’ successfully on the 18th at 11 a.m. at Bukmyeon Public Stadium, attended by about 1,200 people including Hong Nam-pyo, Changwon Special City Mayor, Kang Yong-beom, Vice Chairman of Gyeongnam Provincial Council, Kim Yi-geun, Chairman of Changwon City Council, and Barugesalgi members.
This event was held for the first time in three years due to the impact of COVID-19, with the city council and five district councils participating together. Through various programs such as a cheerful sports day and a harmony festival, it aimed to encourage Barugesalgi members who have been volunteering in the local community and to promote unity.
In particular, the members resolved to contribute to spreading the three core ideals of ‘Truth, Order, and Harmony’ throughout the region and to carry out a citizen consciousness reform movement through this event.
The Barugesalgi Movement Changwon City Council is practicing making Changwon a safe and livable city through traffic order campaigns, sharing volunteer work for neighbors in need, night patrol activities, and green living tree planting.
Chairman Heo Sang-su said, “The spirit of Barugesalgi and the establishment of a safety culture are both the hope of our city and a future strategy,” adding, “We will take the lead in establishing social justice through the establishment of legal order.”
Mayor Hong said in his congratulatory speech, “On behalf of the citizens of Changwon, I express my gratitude for the various activities that Barugesalgi Movement members have devoted themselves to for the development of the local community,” and added, “I hope that today you forget the accumulated fatigue, have a joyful and pleasant time, and strengthen unity.”
