Unfolding at 1004 Islands Bonsai Garden Until the 23rd

At the 2022 Korea Bonsai Exhibition, after fierce competition, Mr. Kim Jae-yeol, who submitted a quince bonsai, received the Grand Prize, the Honorary President Award, and a total of 29 people won awards including the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award.
Also, at the Sinan-gun Bonsai Special Exhibition, bonsai worth about 2 billion KRW, which were being managed to restore the vitality of 286 premium bonsai purchased by public auction last year, and a yew bonsai over 1,000 years old were revealed to the public for the first time, drawing admiration from visitors.
Additionally, the small bonsai displayed on the first floor of the Evening Glow Art Museum harmonize with the photographic works of artist Kang Hong-gu, which capture the landscapes of Sinan, providing another layer of emotion and visual enjoyment.
Park Woo-ryang, the mayor of Sinan-gun, said at the opening ceremony, "We have invested generously for 15 years to make the 1004 Island Bonsai Garden the best facility," and added, "From now on, we will regularly hold a flower bonsai exhibition in spring and a bonsai exhibition in autumn every year to satisfy visitors to the bonsai garden, and we will also expand government awards to further enhance the prestige of the event."
The 1004 Island Bonsai Garden, where this bonsai exhibition is held, is located on a site of 137,000㎡, planted with about 700 bonsai, stones, sculptures, and rare trees, attracting more than 300,000 visitors annually.
