The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Cultural Heritage Administration, and their affiliated and subordinate organizations had an average annual number of employee disciplinary actions approaching 100 cases.

According to data from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Cultural Heritage Administration disclosed on the 17th by Yoo Jeong-ju (Democratic Party), a member of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, there were 481 disciplinary actions against employees from 2018 to September of this year. Severe disciplinary actions such as dismissal, removal, demotion, and suspension accounted for 145 cases (about 30%), while lighter disciplinary actions such as pay cuts, reprimands, and warnings accounted for 336 cases (about 70%).

By organization, Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) had the highest number with seventy-four cases. The Korea Film Council (forty cases), Korea Sports Industry Development (thirty-six cases), Korea Creative Content Agency (twenty-six cases), and Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (twenty-one cases) followed in order.

Rep. Yoo emphasized, "An average of 100 disciplinary actions per year is indicative of a lack of discipline," adding, "The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism must thoroughly manage and supervise to correct the discipline of its headquarters and each affiliated organization and prevent recurrence."
