Ten Holders of Intangible Cultural Heritage Performing Arts Gathered in One Place


The National Intangible Heritage Center will present the performance "The Dignity of Traditional Arts" at the Eolssoomaru Grand Theater on the 22nd and 29th of this month. This event showcases the highest skills of ten holders of national intangible cultural heritage performing arts.


On the 22nd, the essence of our tradition will be conveyed by Lee Dong-gyu, a holder of Gagok who sings the aesthetics of slowness; Kang Jeong-yeol, a holder of Gayageum Sanjo and Byeongchang who continues the tradition of old Gayageum Byeongchang; Ahn Sook-sun, a Pansori holder who expresses the joys and sorrows of life in Chunhyangga; and Park Jae-hee, a Taepyeongmu holder who conveys wishes for national peace through dance movements.


On the 29th, the event will feature Lee Jun-a, a Gasa holder who pursues delicate expression within elegance; Lee Chun-hee, a Gyeonggi Minyo holder known for clear and bright melodies; and Lee Young-hee, a Gayageum Sanjo and Byeongchang holder who harmoniously expresses human emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure, showcasing graceful sounds and movements.


Admission is free and the event requires advance reservation. It can also be watched live via Naver TV.
