[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ‘Low launch, low spin driver’.

This is the Ping Golf G430 LST (photo). It was recently added to the list of drivers certified by the United States Golf Association (USGA). In addition to the LST, Max and SFT have been added, making a total of three lines. LST offers low spin, Max provides high forgiveness, and SFT excels in straight flight.

Among these, the LST driver stands out. At the Shriners Children's Open on the PGA Tour, which concluded on the 10th, as many as 23 players used it. Including other lines, a total of 28 players carried the G430 driver in their caddie bags.

Ping Golf emphasized, "The G430 LST became the most used driver at the Shriners Children's Open," calling it "an enormous success." They added, "Compared to the previous model G425, ball speed increased by 2-3 mph," boasting that "distance and forgiveness have improved."

The key feature of the LST driver is the adoption of the ‘CarbonFly crown’ instead of titanium. Like TaylorMade, Cobra, and Callaway Golf, it uses carbon composites. This reduces weight and enhances driver performance. By lowering the center of gravity, it reduces spin and increases distance. This is not the first time Ping Golf has used a carbon crown; it was previously used in the Rapture driver released in 2006.

A movable tungsten weight was added to the back of the club head. This provides the power to create various shot shapes. Additionally, crown turbulators increase swing speed and ball speed. It is scheduled to be released to the general public next month.
