Kim Kyung-ho, Gwangjin District Mayor and former Seoul high-ranking official who passed the civil service exam, and Baek Il-heon, Deputy Mayor, Respect Each Other While Working; Employees Praise "Best Atmosphere Ever"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] With Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, and Baek Il-heon, Deputy Mayor, forming a fantastic duo while working, the atmosphere among Gwangjin District Office employees is very welcoming.
According to officials at the Gwangjin District Office, the atmosphere within the office has greatly improved since the inauguration of Mayor Kim Kyung-ho in the 8th local government term.
Mayor Kim is fulfilling his campaign promise made during the local election process to pay close attention to communication not only with residents but also with employees.
On the day he was elected Mayor of Gwangjin District, Kim first visited the Gwangjin District Office labor union and promised, "I will be a good friend to you all."
Since then, while greeting employees, he has handed out business cards with his phone number, saying, "Contact me anytime if you have any inconveniences," creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Having passed the civil service exam, Kim has held key positions such as Director of Urban Transportation Headquarters and Welfare Headquarters of Seoul City, Deputy Mayor of Gwangjin District, and Secretary-General of the Seoul Metropolitan Council (Grade 1). Upon being elected Mayor of Gwangjin District in the 8th local government term, he seems to have felt the importance of employees more than anyone else.
In particular, recognizing the rigid atmosphere at his previous workplace, he appears determined to provide better administrative services to residents by working with employees in a comfortable environment.
Along with this, Baek Il-heon, Director of Seoul City, was appointed Deputy Mayor in the personnel reshuffle this August, creating a very positive atmosphere.
Both Mayor Kim and Deputy Mayor Baek are senior and junior colleagues from the Seoul City civil service exam and show mutual respect.
Deputy Mayor Baek Il-heon stated, "I will support the internal affairs of the district office well so that Mayor Kim can provide good administration to the residents."
Lee Jae-eun, Public Relations Officer, said, "The relationship between Mayor Kim and Deputy Mayor Baek is so good that the atmosphere at the district office is better than ever."
