[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 13th that it will promote the ‘2022 Jeongeup City Youth Startup Support Project’ to spread startup culture and support the dreams of youth entrepreneurship.
The Youth Startup Support Project is a project under the ‘Jeongeup-type Local Youth Startup Package Support Project,’ jointly promoted by Jeongeup City and SK Nexilis for the mutual development of the local community.
To support the startup activities of young people interested in entrepreneurship, startup and operating funds will be provided annually until 2024.
In particular, through education and consulting for nurturing young startup talents, it helps young people with weak self-reliance settle in the local community.
In this regard, the city is recruiting prospective young entrepreneurs and youth companies to participate in the ‘2022 Youth Startup Support Project’ until the 31st of this month.
Applicants must be prospective young entrepreneurs who have completed government or city-led startup education and consulting courses or those who can start a business within one year.
The representative must be a youth aged between 18 and 39, and must have had a resident registration address in Jeongeup City for more than six months as of the application date.
Youth entrepreneurs wishing to apply for support should visit the Growth Strategy Office at City Hall and submit related documents such as a business plan by the 31st.
Selected prospective young entrepreneurs will be supported with space construction and remodeling of the business site in the first year to help resolve difficulties in preparing for startups.
Also, in the 2nd and 3rd years, to alleviate the burden of operating funds, support of up to 5 million KRW per year for materials and rent will be provided for three years, up to a maximum of 15 million KRW.
Lee Yong-gwan, head of the Growth Strategy Office, said, “I hope this project will revitalize the region and serve as an opportunity to lay the foundation for creating youth jobs,” adding, “We will continue to work harder with SK Nexilis to help young people who wish to start a business achieve their dreams without leaving the region.”
Meanwhile, SK Nexilis is operating a shared store that temporarily supports startup spaces for prospective entrepreneurs before starting a business.
Since last month, Jeongeup Bunsik has newly opened in the first branch, Jeongeup Bread Cafe in the second branch, and a shared office has been operating 24 hours a day at the third branch.
