Enrollment in Bicycle Insurance for All Residents with Coverage up to 5 Million KRW for Death and Permanent Disability
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has enrolled all residents in bicycle insurance to provide coverage for bicycle accident damages.
All residents registered in the county, including registered foreigners, are automatically enrolled without any separate procedures, and insured status is valid for accidents occurring in other regions of the country as well.
The main coverage includes ▲5 million KRW in case of death due to a bicycle accident ▲up to 5 million KRW for permanent disability ranging from 3% to 100% ▲support ranging from 100,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW for diagnoses requiring more than 4 weeks due to a bicycle accident.
Additionally, if a cyclist causes damage to another person's body or property, legal fees up to 2 million KRW and fines up to 20 million KRW are covered, with settlement support guaranteed up to 30 million KRW per person.
A county official stated, “We will continue to create conditions where all residents can ride bicycles with peace of mind.”
