[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Chorokbaem Media announced on the 12th that it has successfully concluded Season 1 of the social contribution planning broadcast program "Miracle Sneakers" by Korea Agricultural Broadcasting (NBS), conducted through the "Good way with us" Hope Fund in collaboration with Seran Hospital.
Starting its first broadcast in November last year and recording 25 episodes, Miracle Sneakers is a program where the National Movement for Love of Rural Areas, Good way with us, and Seran Hospital visit farmers in medically underserved areas to treat musculoskeletal disorders.
Through this program, a total of 25 patients from medically underserved areas, who suffered from severe knee pain due to long years of farming, household chores causing bent backs, or being diagnosed with end-stage degenerative arthritis, received various human and material medical support. Medical staff from Seran Hospital personally visited these patients to assist from lifestyle and physical condition checks to treatment.
The Good way with us Hope Fund used in Miracle Sneakers is a fund jointly invested by Chorokbaem Media and its affiliates (Chorokbaem Company, Chorokbaem Healthcare), the major shareholder families (Won Youngsik, Kang Sujin, Won Seongjun), and Seran Hospital, and is used for supporting medical expenses for various medically vulnerable groups.
Won Youngsik, Chairman of Chorokbaem Media, said, "I am proud that Miracle Sneakers, utilizing the Good way with us Hope Fund, has helped alleviate medical blind spots," adding, "We will continue to participate steadily in donations to fulfill corporate social responsibility and work harder on social contributions with Seran Hospital."
Chairman Won Youngsik, a member of the high-donor club "Honor Society" of the Community Chest of Korea, established the Good way with us Hope Fund by expanding the semi-scholarship donation project that he and his family have been steadily operating since 2012, continuing donations focused on medical and scholarship projects. The Good way with us Hope Fund plans to expand social contribution projects by receiving additional donations from individuals or companies in the future.
A representative of Chorokbaem Media stated, "Through the Good way with us Hope Fund, we are making efforts to eliminate medical blind spots in our society by supporting patients who find it difficult to undergo surgery due to cost issues related to joints and spine," adding, "Based on this fund, we plan to further expand not only medical support projects but also social contribution projects, and in line with this, we will continue to participate steadily in donations and fulfill our responsibilities through close cooperation with Seran Hospital and other medical institutions."
Meanwhile, Miracle Sneakers Season 1 is scheduled to conclude at the end of this month.
