[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The 'Hapgang Cultural Festival' in Inje-gun, Gangwon, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year under the slogan '100 Years of Future Inje, the Start of a Promise by 70,000 Residents!' It will be held for three days starting from the 14th at the Inje Grass Stadium area.
On the first day of the festival, the Hapgang Ritual will commence, followed on the 15th by the opening ceremony and celebratory performances (K-pop concert), the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games boom-up event including the 'National Youth Dance Performance Competition' and the 'Winter Olympic Star Fan Signing Event.'
On the 16th, the festival will conclude with the highlight of the Hapgang Cultural Festival: the Residents' Sports Competition, featuring over 1,500 athletes competing in 21 events across four categories (sports, folk, preschool, military) representing six towns and townships.
Meanwhile, during the festival period, related events such as the 8th Inje-gun Lifelong Learning Expo (16th-17th), the 19th Haneulnaerin Arts Festival Exhibition (14th-16th), and the 2022 Korean Contemporary Sculpture Invitational Exhibition Inje Invitational (October 1st-November 13th) will also be held.
Choi Sang-gi, the mayor of Inje-gun, stated, "We will ensure that the Hapgang Cultural Festival, Inje-gun's representative local festival, becomes a grand stage for unity in preparing for Inje-gun's 100-year future development."
