Kim Han-jong, Jangseong County Governor, "Opening a New Future for Jangseong through Harmony and Change"

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] On the 11th, Kim Han-jong, the governor of Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, held a regular meeting commemorating 100 days of the 8th popular election term at the 4th floor Academy Hall of the county office, presenting the achievements and vision of the county administration so far.

Looking back on the past 100 days of county administration, Governor Kim Han-jong said, "It has been a process of preparing for new changes and leaps across all fields."

As major achievements, he cited the support fund for daily life recovery for all residents and the COVID-19 relief fund for small business owners, which were promoted as the first pledges of the 8th popular election term.

He provided 300,000 KRW in local currency as a daily life recovery support fund to all residents and supported small business owners with 200,000 KRW, using these as a primer for stabilizing livelihoods and revitalizing the local economy.

To quickly resolve residents' grievances, the budget for living civil complaints in towns and townships was increased more than threefold (3.3 billion KRW), and the county administrative organization was reorganized into an efficient and flexible structure through a large-scale personnel reshuffle.

Progress was also made in efforts to open the "10 million Jangseong tourism era."

A Jangseong Tourism Activation Forum was held, and the "Jangseong Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival," held for the first time in three years, was successfully operated with 190,000 visitors in just three days.

Governor Kim Han-jong said, "By creating five major food streets and attracting the National Southern Food Promotion Institute, we will establish a new tourism model that connects tourism demand to local income through food."

In the agricultural sector, initiatives include ▲building a foreign worker manpower pool ▲establishing the online shopping mall "Jangseong Mall" for agricultural specialty products ▲stable establishment of the National Subtropical Crop Demonstration Center ▲cultivation of high-income farms earning over 100 million KRW ▲and the creation of a lawn-specialized park, positioning Jangseong as a future agricultural hub.

The senior job project expanded both activity days and allowances. The current 30 hours and 270,000 KRW were increased to 42 hours and 378,000 KRW, contributing to the economic stability of the elderly population.

The scale of hometown visits for multicultural families was also expanded from the initial 5 households to 20 households.

Among the visible educational pledges, support for university students is notable.

This project supports university students from families residing in Jangseong for more than three years with actual tuition fees and housing costs (3.6 million KRW annually), and a full survey is currently underway.

Large-scale projects such as the creation of an advanced semiconductor specialized complex, development of the Bitgreen Industrial Complex's hinterland local industrial complex, and establishment of the National Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Research Institute are also progressing without setbacks.

Governor Kim Han-jong said, "I believe the happiness of Jangseong residents and public officials is the key to future success," and added, "Through harmony and change, we will open a new future for Jangseong."

Meanwhile, during the regular meeting, commendations were also given to 38 residents who contributed to the development of county administration.

After the event, Governor Kim Han-jong attended a press conference held in the situation room on the 2nd floor of the county office, spending time communicating with journalists.
