[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, conducted two training sessions on understanding the 'Serious Accident Punishment Act' for all Hapcheon-gun Office employees and public work personnel at the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
Enforced on January 27 of this year, the Serious Accident Punishment Act was established to protect workers and citizens from serious industrial and civic accidents. It includes provisions to punish management officials if serious accidents occur due to violations of major safety and health obligations at workplaces or public facilities.
Hapcheon-gun invited instructor Jeong Ho-jo, Vice President of the Korea Safety and Health Education Institute, to conduct the program under the themes of ▲complete understanding of the Serious Accident Punishment Act ▲implementing safe county administration through the use of serious accident prevention and response manuals.
County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol stated, “Since minor accidents can lead to major ones if repeated, accident prevention is most important,” and added, “Through this serious accident prevention training, we will understand the law and establish a safety and health management system prioritizing the safety of residents and workers.”
