[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Localive, an ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) platform operated by Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, is holding a popup store called ‘Localland’ linked with local communities at Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano until the 13th of next month.

According to Hanwha Hotels & Resorts on the 11th, Localland, planned by Localive, is a popup store designed to promote products of local small business owners and help open sales channels in cooperation with local governments. This time, it debuts at Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano under the theme ‘Autumn in Gangwon Province’ in collaboration with Gangwon Provincial Office. In addition to selling local products near the first-floor exhibition hall Atelier Hangwa and the nearby Lakeside Park, various experience events are prepared.

First, visitors can enter by signing up as a member of Localive and receiving a local pass. The popup store sells over 40 Gangwon region products such as Gangwon potato bread and Ulsanbawi cookies. By accessing the QR code on the free postcards, visitors can also purchase various Gangwon foods not available at the venue, such as Hongcheon steamed buns and Chuncheon chicken ribs. In particular, collecting stamps at the exhibition zone, experience zone, and photo zone booths grants lucky draw benefits.

At Lakeside Park located within Seorak Sorano, a resting area and photo zone were created in collaboration with ‘Jip Naon Busik,’ a product-making YouTuber from Gangwon Province. This place reflects Localland’s commitment to the local environment. Visitors who answer environmental quiz questions correctly receive plogging bags and Localland grip talk goods as prizes.

A marketing representative from Hanwha Hotels & Resorts said, “Localive, as an ESG platform, values regional coexistence as well as local environmental preservation,” adding, “We plan to open Localland in various regions every year to showcase not only promising local products but also eco-friendly campaigns that everyone can enjoy, so please look forward to it.”
