[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] The Jangseong Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival, held on the 8th, succeeded in attracting 60,000 visitors on its first day alone.
What was especially impressive was the abundance of food and entertainment. Experience contents such as the moon boat, water bicycles, and children's amusement park received great responses, and many of Jangseong's renowned restaurants participated in the food court, adding to the festival's excitement. Setting up tents, tables, and chairs in the middle of the old public stadium where the main events were held, allowing visitors to eat while watching performances, was also a 'masterstroke.'
The beauty of the seasonal flowers that made Hwangryonggang famous today remained unchanged. Crowds came steadily from morning until dusk to admire the billions of autumn flowers spread over the 3.2 km section of Hwangryonggang, including cosmos, zinnia, and pink muhly.
From the cool breeze of the evening, the charm of the night scenery emerged. The moonlight sculpture occupying the center of the stage caught the eye, and the flower tunnel lighting facility was also fantastic.
Attention was also focused on the opening commemorative performance "Namdo Masters and Singers' Korean Traditional Music Feast," held at 6 p.m. at the Jangseong Culture and Arts Center. Korean traditional musicians such as Park Aeri appeared, conveying the deep fragrance of traditional music through dance, instrumental music, and changgeuk (Korean opera) to the audience. Before the performance, Jangseong-gun held a simple opening ceremony to officially announce the start of the autumn flower festival.
As starlight began to appear one by one, the festival's highlight, the "Moonlight Concert," started at the old public stadium. Singers Yoo Seong-eun and Louis, who gained fame through the TV program "Voice Korea," lit up the stage. Following this, a spectacular fireworks display filled the night sky, marking the finale of the festival's first day.
Kim Hanjong, the mayor of Jangseong-gun, said, "After a long wait, the Jangseong Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival has returned with new excitement, full of sights, food, and fun," adding, "We hope many people visit and create precious memories with their beloved family and friends."
