[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hee-jun] North Korea, on the eve of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party, has once again carried out a missile provocation and is emphasizing loyalty to Chairman Kim Jong-un to strengthen internal unity.

The Workers' Party organ, Rodong Sinmun, stated in an editorial titled "The Absolute Authority of the Respected General Secretary is the Dignity of Our Party and the Pride and Glory of Our People," published on the front page on the 9th, "Today’s era shines and advances gloriously under the absolute authority of Respected Comrade Kim Jong-un." It added, "Comrade Kim Jong-un is supported and loved by the people, and this is recognized and admired by the world," and praised, "Over the past ten years, our motherland, which has highly revered the Respected General Secretary, has embroidered a brilliant development and transformation, and under wise leadership, a great heyday has unfolded in our revolution and socialist construction."

Despite worsening conditions within North Korea due to sanctions, repeated natural disasters, and chronic food shortages, it is interpreted as demanding unconditional loyalty while praising Chairman Kim. On the other hand, it acknowledges the difficult living conditions of the people but claims it is for the construction of an ideal socialist society.

The newspaper also stated, "Socialist construction is a hard struggle that must overcome all kinds of reactionaries and hostile forces’ continuous challenges and obstruction schemes, numerous obstacles and trials," and defined, "The Party’s firm choice of a difficult path to establish the strongest national defense power is also to provide a life free from envy to the world as soon as possible." It also emphasized, "It is inevitable that the people face difficulties in their daily lives."

In this process, expressions such as "the country’s situation is more difficult than ever," "challenges and obstacles hindering the country’s progress and development," and "harsh hardships and trials of history" were used to describe the situation inside North Korea. This is interpreted as an attempt to soothe the people’s difficult lives due to the spread of COVID-19 and limitations in food supply.

External propaganda media also joined the chorus of praising Chairman Kim in line with the political anniversary. The propaganda outlet Uri Minjokkkiri emphasized, "The leader serves the people with self-sacrifice, and the people wholeheartedly support the leader with loyalty, showing our united single-minded unity," and stressed, "The power of the united single-minded unity firmly bonded between the leader and the people is infinite and invincible."

‘Chosun Today’ urged loyalty to Chairman Kim, stating, "The people of the Republic are pledging an oath of certain victory to bring forward a new victory of our style socialism under the leadership of Respected Marshal Kim Jong-un."
