Amid Wind Wave Advisory, Strong Winds of 12-14m/s Hit the Mainland

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Amid a wind wave advisory issued for the southern West Sea offshore, a man in his 60s, a resident of an island village in Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, who suffered a wrist fracture injury, was urgently transported to the mainland by the Coast Guard.
According to the Mokpo Coast Guard Station on the 7th, at around 2:23 PM that day, a report was received that Ms. A (female, in her 60s), who was volunteering on Nulokdo Island in Jindo-gun, had sustained a wrist fracture, and a patrol boat was dispatched immediately.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Coast Guard confirmed Ms. A’s injury, provided emergency treatment using a splint, and quickly moved to Seomang Port in Jindo-gun.
Ms. A arrived on the mainland at around 4:05 PM that day and was transferred to a large hospital in Mokpo, where she underwent a detailed examination and is currently receiving treatment.
It was confirmed that Ms. A had arrived on Nulokdo Island on the 6th to volunteer and injured her wrist after slipping on a slope during cleaning activities on the afternoon of the 7th.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, “At the time of patient transport, strong winds of 12 to 14 meters per second were blowing, so we conducted the transport with maximum attention to safety,” adding, “Even amid worsening weather conditions, we are doing our best every moment to ensure the swift transport of emergency patients.”
