[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] On July 1st, having set "Together with the New Damyang Residents" as the slogan for county administration and started the journey of the 8th popularly elected term, Damyang County Governor Lee Byeongno will mark his 100th day in office on the 8th.

Based on over 40 years of administrative experience, Governor Lee is directly identifying issues on-site, eliciting residents' understanding and empathy, and implementing dynamic administration that residents can feel.

On the 7th, Governor Lee held a regular assembly and stated, "The first 100 days since taking office have been a time to lay the foundation for the direction of the 8th popularly elected county administration together with the residents," revealing the achievements so far and future administrative directions.

First, regarding administrative achievements, he said, "We reorganized the administrative organization to improve administrative efficiency and revised the rules for handling administrative decisions to strengthen authority and responsibility appropriate to ranks," adding, "Based on the philosophy that the answer lies in the field, I personally inspect the sites daily to gather opinions, and we operate a dedicated team for handling civil complaints at the Jikso Civil Service Office, swiftly processing 185 minor complaints."

He continued, "We established a Seoul office to strengthen communication channels with the government and the National Assembly, visited Jeonnam Province and central government departments to propose balanced special conversion projects and national budget requests to resolve pressing issues, and set up a Regulatory Reform Committee to solve residents' difficulties through swift and bold deregulation."

In the welfare sector, he evaluated, "We have laid the groundwork for realizing Hyangchon Welfare, the core welfare policy of the 8th popularly elected term," adding, "We expanded the scope of public health by implementing the 'Our Village Primary Doctor' project where public health doctors and nursing staff from health centers visit homes, strengthening integrated dementia management services, and operating a one-on-one dedicated public official system for facilities vulnerable to group infections."

He also explained achievements toward realizing a prosperous wealthy rural community.

Governor Lee said, "We prepared a plan to promote the consumption of Damyang rice in response to the decline in rice prices, conducted campaigns and promotions with related organizations, and somewhat shared the difficulties of farmers by promoting on- and offline sales and encouraging public officials to support farming households by purchasing Damyang rice."

He added, "To strengthen the competitiveness of agriculture and livestock, we allocated 10.17 billion KRW in the 2nd supplementary budget for the agricultural sector and will steadily implement support for fertilizer price stabilization, customized agricultural machinery purchases, and activation of young farmers."

He also achieved results in attracting private investment for future growth engines such as the Pines Stone CC development project in Mujeong-myeon, with a total investment of 190 billion KRW and an expected creation of 110 jobs, and the Dambit Farm World development project in Changpyeong-myeon.

Furthermore, he emphasized, "Due to our county's poor finances, we cannot make sufficient investments in all areas such as job creation and tourism projects," adding, "We will activate private investment to achieve efficient job creation, tourism development, and tax revenue expansion while reducing county budget expenditures."

The direction for next year's county administration aims to promote administration that everyone agrees with in various fields such as agriculture and economy, culture and tourism, welfare and environment, based on four principles: listening, serving, fairness, and innovation.

Key pledges include ▲ Realizing a 'Prosperous Wealthy Rural Community' through future strategic agricultural projects ▲ Establishing a customized welfare system for 'Hyangchon Welfare' ▲ Creating 'Damyang to which Youth Return' through Damyang-style jobs ▲ Improving living infrastructure for balanced development across all regions ▲ Realizing a 'Namdo Cultural Tourism City' where residents and tourists are happy together ▲ Implementing inclusive and empathetic administration through active resident participation.

Governor Lee Byeongno said, "The opinions and suggestions of residents I hear daily during site visits will serve as catalysts for reflecting on and developing county administration," adding, "I will do my best to create a happy, self-reliant economic city Damyang based on the principles of listening, serving, fairness, and innovation."

Meanwhile, on the 7th, marking his 100th day in office, Governor Lee explained the county administration's achievements and directions to all public officials, and in the afternoon, visited centenarian elders to present them with Cheongryeojang (walking sticks) and congratulatory cards, promising to realize Hyangchon Welfare for the happy old age of the elderly.
